Princeton Athletic Training & Sports Medicine Program

"The Team Behind the Team"

We are an athletic training program for Princeton ISD students grades 9-12. Applications open in March and 20-25 students are selected each year. These athletic training student aides work with Princeton ISD athletic teams under the supervision of our three certified athletic trainers. Students assist with hydration, prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Athletic training student aides are also required to take our Sports Medicine 1, 2, and 3 courses which earn 1 elective credit each. In these courses students learn about anatomy, physiology, evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries, sports psychology, and so much more. Athletic training student aides also have the opportunity to shadow and collaborate with our team of sports medicine health care professionals at Baylor Scott & White, Peak Physical therapy, and other institutions. For questions please email Shannon Wright at swright@princetonisd.net.
